Best Language Empty Best Language

Post by Lyt_Grey Wed 25 Mar 2009, 2:11 pm

With the introduction of thousands of Programming Languages and Dialects (hackers term for different versions of programming language - ie: PL-> C, Dialects->Turbo C, Borland C, GNU C)

Question is what could be the best software for creating shareware programs,..

VS? - Yeah, with the "drag and drop" feature enable you to create and deploy applicattions rapidly but the problem is that its resource hungry. Whats worse, liscencing,..#$%^&*

Java? - Modern, popular, free and open source (theres actually differences between free and open source) but labourios language. Requires the JVM to deploy your application.

C++? - Old (but has newer versions). Considered as the most powerful and dangerous programming language (forgot the link where I read it), You can create applications that dosen't require any platform (.Net or JVM), smaller size, and also, there are versions which are open source and free. It may be a language of choice but because there are lot of versions of this language, It's hard to find resources that would EXACTLY match to the version your using. I tried GNU C and MingGW but cannot find enough resources and sample codes.

What I want is a language that is simple, supports RAD, GPL, powerful language and with lot of tutorials and resources.

Any suggestions?????

Java parin.
Especially pag umabot ka na sa Java Enterprise Edition programming
You wont really appreciate the power of java without learning the enterprise technologies attached to it.

There are lots of frameworks especially tailored for java enterprise such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate. These really help a lot in rapid application.

With regards to testing your application meron dyang Junit which is a testing framework for Java
With regards to automated way of compiling, building, to deploying to an application server meron tayong Ant Build Tool which is very powerful scripting tool for Java.

Malaki ang java and lots of companies abroad are doing their enterprise computing using java enterprise.

MOst airlines abroad and transporation business are using it. For example Philippine Airlines, USA's NOrthwest Airlines, BPI..and more..

pero kung plan mo mag-apply sa google or microsoft then go for C++ =D.

Yeah, I really appreciate the power of java specially the J2EE (enterprise).

But my target applications are simple small sized applications (10 mb to 30 mb) if possible, that will be deployed as free downloadable applications in the internet, (ala downloads.com).

Also, as much as possible, it would run without any platform,..

Thanks, I appreciate your response...

ooops if that's your plan then the power of j2se or j2ee will just be a headache.
go for c++ instead...

Try researching on Haskell and Erlang too...nice languages.
