I'm currently handling this new subject offered in our school,..

advance computing i gues pertains to the different latest technologies nowadays that r being used in the different fields..example advance computing technologies used by scientist..in the business sector..nd d like..

i want to narrow it down just like my brain na masyadong makitid,.. je je je

what I did is to divide the class into three and have them report on the latest regarding:

Hardware
Software
Networking

and hope to start from there...

then there are problems, even though it was divided into three but within each division, it is still very broad,..

So i have them decide and focus on one particular topic,..

the title says it all.. is it all about computer networks? or you cover all about computer.

Yap but the problem is how to narrow it down,...

i suggest use the buk of sisco.. kc almost networking subjects use sisco n kaya d n ako magtataka kung may sisco standard n ang magiging standard about networking.. i have a buk kung gusto mo hiramin hehe

the book contains from sico 1 & 2 only..

very broad topic and rather vague.
unless you really focus to the term "Advanced" start from there. Go to the extreme of the term "Advance", I'm sure magiging narrow yan. Advanced though does not mean current trends. As in Advanced where the "best case scenario" is only top 5 student in your class can follow the discussion. =D

advance computing.. and computer networks.

parang 2 na subjects to.. and may lab b kayo? pwedeng ma narrow down kung mag concentrate sa isang field lng pero the question is saan k magcoconcentrate since 2 ung parang nakikita ko n subjects hehehe

parang yung subject natin nuoon n COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING. sa ibang skuls bale 2 ang subjects com eng and com arch. parang ganun din.. 2 in 1 n subject hehehe

I'm thinking on focusing on the theories and concepts thats driving the evolution of technology nowadays...

For example,..

in the field of programming, the trend is that we started in:

interpreted -> ex. BASIC

then

procedural -> ex. pascal

then

structured -> ex. C

then ung latest (kung xa pa rin ah)

OOP -> Java, C++,

..., something like that...

now when it comes to Advance Computing and Networking,.. ano kaya,..

and another problem is that we are in Technical - Vocational school not in some university thats y i guess its not right to discuss it this way,...

and also as an addon sa subject ung upcoming Google Wave, how they come to realize that product, pinanood ko ung one hour video ng Google bout this sa preview developer release and this totally blew my mind... =D

How do you find subnetting,.. useful ba xa when it comes to our current situations here in baguio and manila...

I started discussing subnetting sa mga students para sana matutunan nila ung techniques in isolating network,.. kahit na iisa lang ung hardware connection,.. (physical layout),..

But students are not so interested kasi they want simplier,. easy to understand topic like pano magset ng IP,.. then an alam lang nila is 192.168.0.blah blah blah,.. subnet is static na 255.255.255.0,.. ha! ha! ha!

heheh sir! Subnetting is a complicated topic that has confused students for a very long time.
it depends naman on you,---the technique method on how you handle your students para matutunan nila in a simpliest way. well kaya mo yan SIR!

d nmn mahirap ang subnetting.. d ko lng alam sa iba hahahaha
